The Innovation Incubation Council (IIC) in collaboration with C.K Prahalad Centre for Emerging India (CKPC) of LIBA, organized a Startup Mela on 11th March 2023 at Dr. Xavier Britto Auditorium. 150 business ideas were presented by aspiring entrepreneurs from different walks of life. The Mela was a platform for entrepreneurs to showcase their innovative ideas, business models, and solutions that cater to the needs of the bottom of the pyramid. These ideas were evaluated by a panel and the best 15 rural business ideas were awarded a cash prize of Rs. 20,000, based on their feasibility, scalability, innovation, and social impact. They will also be given access to mentoring, coaching, and incubation support from the Innovation Incubation Council of LIBA for the next one year. This will help them to refine their business models, develop their products/services, access funding and connect with relevant stakeholders. The event was a significant step towards promoting inclusive and sustainable entrepreneurship and bridging the gap between the privileged and the underprivileged.
