GUARDIAN ANGEL

The concept is to guard a student against any social strain and stress in the process of learning and formation in LIBA and help her/him like an angel to get initiated into the campus culture of LIBA. A Guardian Angel serves to protect and pray for the students assigned to him/her.

Being a Guardian Angel here in LIBA gains sense of sacredness in terms of protecting and safeguarding a student from all kinds of forces that hinder personal as well as intellectual growth. For LIBA aims to form the character of its students that helps shape their future, not just their career, to excel with ethics in jobs and responsibilities they take up. The area of focus is here learning, not personal lives of individuals. Should there be any personal issues propping up in course of interaction, the Angels guide them to meet up with Faculty Mentors who would help approach appropriate persons such as Dean/Associate Dean and Counsellors in LIBA.

“How great the dignity of the soul, since each one has from his birth an angel commissioned to guard”

HEARTFULNESS RETREAT

Melting candles resembling sacrifice and burning lamps resembling sustainability, the auditorium of LIBA was dimly lit with candles and lamps setting the ambience for the retreat. The retreat was led by the Director, Fr. Joe Arun with the students and faculty taking part in it. The retreat was titled as ‘Sound of Silence’ where everybody in the LIBA campus maintained silence throughout the retreat. The retreat was centered around the ideology of relationship and happiness. The faculty and the students had a session where everyone introspected and shared their insights. The retreat also had a prayer session where the gathering prayed for each and every student and faculty. With every member of LIBA coming together, the retreat was a meaningful experience for everyone.

MENTOR - MENTEE (FACULTY - STUDENT)

“Let us remember: One book, one pen, one child, and one teacher can change the world.” – Malala Yousafzai

LIBA celebrated Teachers’ Day on September 6th 2021 with uniqueness – A celebration for ‘Mentors with Mentees’, postulated by Rev. Fr. Dr. C. Joe Arun, SJ – Director LIBA.

The ideology behind this initiative is in LIBA’s new curriculum, wherein the teacher is a mentor who accompanies students in their learning and formation.  In return, Mentees will honour and thank the Mentors, paving an opportunity to renew Mentors’ commitment to the mission of forming men and women for others.

The event commemorated by Mentees meeting their Mentors in groups, cutting cakes, exchanging gifts, sharing, and relishing memories. The motive behind this is to realize our value of Cura Personalis, care of the individual in this process.
