The 13th session of BMI was conducted on 1st December 2021, the session was graced by Mr. Abdul Basheer Khan, Managing Partner, Sattar Sanitary Store. Mr. Khan is a third-generation entrepreneur and was a student of LIBA.
He started the session by pointing out the very important fact that B-schools only provide the students with necessary tools for starting their own business, but not the mindset which was extremely important as well.
Mr. khan made it very clear that that starting one’s own business comes with a plethora of risks. He mentioned that according to India Business News research, though 83% of total young population want to opt for business rather than a safe employment in an office, according to another survey by IBM, only 10% of these businesses become successful.
He also talked about a very important aspect of teaching entrepreneurship. He emphasised that entrepreneurship can be taught. According to him, the idea of becoming an entrepreneur is like a diamond which only needs a bit of cutting, shaping and polishing.
